Sharpening the Tongue

This unique brooch is handcrafted from solid sterling silver. Every element is made by hand, from sawing to engraving, with no prefabricated parts or casting involved. It's all created from scratch using traditional techniques.

The piece is inspired by the 1848 painted beehive panel “Devil Sharpening a Woman’s Tongue” from the Museum of Apiculture in Radovljica. In this version, Donald Trump replaces the original figure. The devil grips his tongue with a pair of forge pliers and grinds it on a spinning wheel, pulling Trump forward with his hands flailing behind him.

It’s a detailed and thought-provoking piece that mixes satire with historical reference. Perfect for collectors, art lovers, or anyone with a taste for sharp symbolism and fine metalwork.
