This brooch is a fully handmade and hand-engraved replica of the Bredfield Brooch, a distinguished example of a late Anglo-Saxon disc brooch from the second half of the 11th century. The original, unearthed near Bredfield in Suffolk, reflects the rich cultural interweaving of Anglo-Saxon and Viking artistic traditions. Its design is strongly influenced by the Ringerike style, a Scandinavian art style characterized by elegant, interlaced animal forms and fluid linework, typical of Viking art from the late 10th to early 11th centuries.

This modern recreation has been crafted entirely by hand using traditional methods. The face of the brooch is hand-forged from 999 fine silver, carefully hand engraved to mirror the intricate original design. The decorative bosses are made of fine silver and mounted on sterling silver posts, while the backing and closure system are hand-fabricated from brass, providing durability and historical accuracy.

Measuring 10 cm in diameter (3.9 inches) , this brooch is both a striking piece of wearable art and a faithful tribute to the craftsmanship of the late Anglo-Saxon period, blending Saxon form with Viking stylistic influence. An ideal piece for collectors, historical reenactors, or anyone drawn to early medieval metalwork.
